”Booked for a last minute long weekend holiday. My horse has been given a very high standard of care. He’s been on full livery, both stabled and with turnout. Haynet and water were always topped up full. Stable always immaculate. I didn’t stay onsite and had no concerns about leaving him in their care. We’ve had three guided rides, each tailored to our requirements. Lucy is an excellent horsewoman and guide. She has been extremely accommodating and kind throughout. I will definitely visit again.’

‘We come to Reeth every year and i’m horsey mad. I had no clue the stables even existed mum totally surprised me!! And wow what an amazing experience it was, I met Lucy and Jane they were lovely. Lucy made me feel so safe and happy when I was hacking with her and its such a friendly yard with the cutest horses, 100% recommend and we will definitely be visiting again next year

‘I booked my 16 year old daughter in for a guided ride with Lucy whilst holidaying in Reeth. It was without doubt the best experience ever. The knowledge of the local area and a genuine passion for what they do just shines through. ‘Everyone should have this on their “go to” list for a horsie holiday. It has everything you could ask for. You will get the absolute warmest of welcomes, the riding has THE most amazing views AND you won’t get lost because you have the wonderful Lucy showing you the way. The list continues from the spotless stables to the immaculate shower block, the gorgeously cosy bell tents with everything you could possibly want … including a little log burner for that wonderfully Yorkshire “inclement” weather. This is an absolute gem of a place, it’s so good it’s on my definite list for next year

Stayed here at Arklemoor for 4 days xxx had a really nice time xxx Lucy Jane and Chris looked after me like family … really made me feel welcome. I would definitely recommend getting Lucy to be your guide as she knows all the area like the back of her hand.

‘Fantastic Equine B&B with all your needs catered for. My young horse Mikey has had a fabulous 3 nights stay there in his stable with a view, and he definitely enjoyed his haynets. We enjoyed two days with guided rides taken out by Lucy and Wally who matched the rides to suit us both and we got to enjoy some fabulous views over the moor. It may be a 4 1/2 hour drive from us but worth every mile travelled. Cherry on the cake was the fabulous weather for the weekend. All seemed over far too quickly.’

Lucy was a wonderful host and we thoroughly enjoyed our guided rides out each day – having never done guided before and always found our own way this was a new thing for us and was so much more relaxing! Varied terrain and paces, some lovely canter opportunities and MY GOD the views
We stayed on-site in a bell tent with a fireplace and full cooking equipment, fridge, and electric. It was cosy and comfortable, and we had our own toilet and shower a short walk away which was spotless. We even arrived to complimentary processo in the fridge AND bought us a drink on the pub stop on one of our rides!
Our horses can’t have grass so we had stables and a minimal grass turnout area which was ideal. Biosecurity was spot on with our horses not being in contact with theirs, in both stables and field – something that is often overlooked by riding holiday/clinics and drives me mad!
Would hugely recommend booking and staying here if you like views, good riding, pub stops and a good host. 10 out of 10!’

‘ From the moment we arrived, we found a very warm welcome, everything was ready for horse and rider. Nice text later on to say horse was well settled and to confirm the time of our first days ride. Arrived next morning to find Willow had been turned out to stretch her legs, fed, mucked out and ready for tacking up. Had a fantastic ride up hill and down. Very good company, Lucy really charming and talkative. Back to the stables, everything was ready for Willow, and Wally Tracy’s steed taken care of by Lucy. Jobs done back to the CB Inn for supper. Next day later ride out different route via pub, nice cheeky gin n tonic then 1 mile home. Really appreciated Willow needed time to explore opening and shutting gates, plenty of opportunities and no rush. Cant thank Lucy enough for making our rides spectacular, we will definitely be back. Wally was a star stand in for Claude who unfortunately this time bunked off.’

‘ This was our second visit to Arkle Moor Riding Centre and Reeth. I was looking for an equine B&B, but somewhere that I could bring husband and dogs as well. We all had a wonderful time because the walking in this idyllic area is lovely and the hacking is too! Lucy took Smokey and I plus Riley & Debbie (who were also on their second visit!) on guided rides up hill & down dale, (literally!) through picturesque villages, along quiet country lanes & over the moors! We even visited the pub with the horses!

‘ 3 of us returned to Arkle moor this year for 6 nights with our horses after an amazing 4 night stay last year – we had to come for longer this time! Can’t recommend the care our horses received highly enough, Lucy is a very experienced horsewoman and very knowledgeable of the area and the local riding. The horses settled in straight away and were very relaxed and happy in their stables. Maps and route guidance provided by Lucy was very easy to follow and tailored to exactly what we wanted for each days riding, the weather was great and the scenery over the moors is just breathtaking. We stayed locally in Turbine house which is one of Reeth Holiday Cottages beautiful self catering cottages which are next to the river and a 2 minute walk to the village center and close to all amenities. Such a fantastic place to be we have already booked for 6 nights next year!’

‘Lovely 3 hour ride, suited to myself and my horse. Well organised. Our guide Lucy was very helpful, Lucy’s cob Wally was traffic proof, great at gates and went in front or behind. The views were spectacular. Nice going canter tracks. Nice clean human toilet and wash area for your horse. I would recommend Arkle Moor Riding Centre 100%. ‘Cant recommend enough! Warm, friendly, family run business. Nice stables and tidy yard. We were provided with maps and routes for our trekking to meet our needs as we had 3 children ranging from 4-10 yrs. Use of the arena, with a lovely surface,was a bonus. Stalls were kept very clean, we didn’t need to do anything. We will be back.’
